Architecture faculty and students win multiple honors at St. Louis AIA Awards

Donald KosterNova Scotia summer cottageFaculty members, graduate students and recent alumni from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts have received a total of five 2006 Design Awards from the St. Louis Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The annual awards honor architects, designers and crafts persons for their contributions to excellence in the built environment. In all, 18 awards were given in five categories: Craftsmanship, Drawings, Interiors, Unbuilt and Architecture. In addition, the Wainwright Building Complex received the chapter’s Twenty-Five Year Award.

Pikers a cappella group celebrates 21 years

The Pikers, WUSTL’s oldest a cappella ensemble group, are staging a concert Nov. 11 to celebrate the 21st anniversary of the group’s founding. More than 50 Pikers alumni will return to St. Louis from across the country to join the current student Pikers in a showcase of the group’s greatest hits and evolving performance style.

Oct. 25-31 Oct. 27 4:28 p.m. — An item was reported missing from artwork display in the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum was described as a Tootsie Roll wrapper, and was possibly mistaken as trash. Oct. 30 1:48 p.m. — The reporting party stated that unknown person(s) stole computer equipment from the first floor conference room closet of Goldfarb Hall between noon Oct. 27 and 11:50 a.m. Oct. 30. Oct. 31 10:07 a.m. — Audio-video services reported unknown person(s) stole a Dell computer, keyboard, mouse and wireless hub from the electronics cabinet in Brown Hall, Room 205. The theft occurred between 1:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 30. Total loss is estimated at $1,500. Additionally, University Police responded to five larcenies and one auto acciden
