Greenberg crowned Mr. Wash U

Senior Zach Greenberg was selected Mr. Wash U April 1 at Edison Theatre. He beat out 16 contestants in the yearlong, annual event that raises money for the charity City Faces.

Brown School presents annual awards

The Brown School honored two distinguished individuals for outstanding service to their profession during its annual Alumni Awards celebration April 6 in Steinberg Hall Auditorium. Two alumni received Distinguished Alumni Awards and a faculty member received a Distinguished Faculty Award.  

Financial planning seminars offered April 13-15

TIAA-CREF and Vanguard will offer free financial education seminars April 13-15 on the Danforth and Medical School campuses for WUSTL faculty and staff. Topics include budget and debt management, determining net worth, managing credit, creating a spending plan, saving for retirement, asset allocation and understanding different types of investments.

Gephardt Institute, Student United Way jointly offers service grants

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service has partnered with the newly formed university group, Student United Way, to offer funding for students applying to the Civic Engagement Fund. The Civic Engagement Fund awards graduate, professional and undergraduate students who seek funding for service trips, civic initiatives, or community service projects.  

The mission continues

The former Navy SEAL and Rhodes Scholar was on campus to speak about The Mission Continues, the organization he founded that provides career service opportunities for wounded and injured veterans.

Locks of Love event on campus: Hair today, gone tomorrow

The Locks of Love hair donation and haircut event will be held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, April 12, in the Fun Room of the Danforth University Center. Members of the WUSTL community who attend can donate 10 inches of hair to receive a free professional haircut or get a professional cut for a $20 donation.

The gift of life

A total of 395 productive units of blood were collected at the eight locations around the Danforth, Medical and West campuses March 31.

Vote on Prop A takes place April 6

For many WUSTL students, faculty and staff, Metro provides an environmentally friendly and economical commute to campus, work and social events. St. Louis County voters will decide April 6 whether to pass Proposition A, which calls for a half-cent sales tax increase to support public transportation in the St. Louis area.
