Washington University will be participating in this year’s St. Louis PrideFest, held June 29 –30 at Soldiers’ Memorial in Downtown St. Louis. Shelby Jordan, a 1974 WUSTL graduate and an 11-year National Football League (NFL) veteran, was selected to the 2013 Divisional College Football Hall of Fame Class, as announced by the National Football Foundation Wednesday.

Senior Adam Putterman captured the 2013 NCAA Division III Singles National Championship with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Mark Kahan of Amherst College May 25 at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. The singles national championship is the second in school history.

Jamie Jordan, principal of Brittany Woods Middle School in the University City School District, accepts one of 20 “What’s Right With the Region!” awards from Focus St. Louis May 9. WUSTL is a key partner with Brittany Woods through the Institute for School Partnership, which conducts training and outreach programs at the school, and the Brown School, where the middle school is part of its urban education initiative.

Bradley L. Jolliff, PhD, is named the inaugural Scott Rudolph Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences in Arts & Sciences.

Washington University employees’ current U-Pass — allowing WUSTL faculty and staff free use of Metro, the region’s public transportation system — will expire June 30. Benefits-eligible employees may request a new U-Pass for the 2013-14 fiscal year at the Parking & Transportation Services website.
