WUHHU presents hip-hop showcase
Washington University Hip Hop Union specializes in commercial dance – the high-energy style that backup dancers typically perform at concerts and in music videos. They will perform, along with other student groups, in a showcase Saturday, Nov. 12.
Election Day is Nov. 8
On Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, and the Athletic Complex is ready to welcome students, faculty and staff who are registered to vote in St. Louis County. Polls are open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Also, join in a party with live music and free food.
Senior Miao elected to College Democrats board
Ranen Miao, a senior studying political science and sociology in Arts & Sciences, was elected to serve as national director of communications for the College Democrats of America.
Diwali outfits celebrate culture, diversity of South Asia
Presented by student group Ashoka, Washington University’s annual Diwali performance is a celebration of South Asian dance and song. It also serves as a showcase for the region’s colorful fashions.

Black Anthology hosts ‘Evelyn From the Internets’
Evelyn Ngugi, aka “Evelyn From the Internets,” has been posting her hilarious and heartfelt videos for almost a decade. She will give a talk Thursday, Nov. 3, on the Danforth Campus.

Gonzalez, Martin launch food blog
When Chancellor Andrew Martin told Anna Gonzalez, the newly named vice chancellor for student affairs and self-proclaimed foodie, that St. Louis boasted a world-class food scene, Gonzalez had her doubts. Two years later, she is happy to say the chancellor was right. Together they have launched the food blog, “Good Eats with Chancellor Martin & Dr. G,” which will showcase great local restaurants.
