Two Washington University in St. Louis faculty were among the 79 biomedical engineers and leaders elected this year to the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering College of Fellows.They are Shelly E. Sakiyama-Elbert, PhD, associate professor of biomedical engineering, and Younan Xia, PhD, the James M. McKelvey Professor of Biomedical Engineering.

Alumna Deborah Cohen Kosofsky turned her natural curiosity and love of writing into a 30-year career in television. Since 2003, she has served as a producer for the Today show.

After serving in many leadership roles at the university, Ida H. Early is now secretary to the Board of Trustees.

The men’s basketball team from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, ­visited ­Washington University in early December 2010. ­Participating in the 27th annual Lopata Classic basketball tournament.
