Washington University first North American member of the University Alliance of the Silk Road

Washington University in St. Louis was installed as the first North American member of the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR) at Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, host for theWorld-Class Universities Expo and Conference April 7-10. Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton was on hand for the signing ceremony and joins the UASR executive committee.

Edem and Pam Dzunu founded the nonprofit Baobab People to help bring together people from different backgrounds to learn about one another and to dispel misconceptions. Both work with English Language Programs in the Office for International Students and Scholars.

Relay For Life ‘connects us all’

Some 1,200 Washington University students, faculty and staff will gather at Francis Field Saturday Saturday, April 9, for Relay For Life, a 12-hour benefit for the American Cancer Society. For members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, the event offers an opportunity to honor a fraternity brother who died of cancer.
