University delivers shuttle to Better Family Life
Washington University and its shuttle provider, Huntleigh Transportation Services, donated a shuttle to longtime community partner Better Family Life. The organization will use the shuttle to create and expand services for residents and young people attending Better Family Life after-school programs and summer camps.

Actor Goodman to headline Founders Day Nov. 2
Award-winning actor and St. Louis native John Goodman will be the keynote speaker for Washington University in St. Louis’ annual Founders Day celebration Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Louis Union Station Hotel. During the event to celebrate the university’s founding in 1853, distinguished alumni, faculty and supporters are honored.

Kamimura-Jimenez named associate vice chancellor, dean of Center for Diversity and Inclusion
Mark Kamimura-Jimenez has been named associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at Washington University in St. Louis. Kamimura-Jimenez, who is assistant vice chancellor of student affairs at Texas Christian University, will join Washington University Jan. 1.

Obituary: John Bachmann, emeritus trustee, 80
John W. Bachmann, an emeritus trustee of Washington University in St. Louis, died Oct. 16, 2019, of a cerebral hemorrhage in Charleston, S.C., surrounded by family. He was 80.
Hoeferlin named chair of landscape architecture, urban design programs
Associate professor Derek Hoeferlin has been named chair of the landscape architecture and urban design programs in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis.
