Sam Fox School students featured in Varsity Art XXIV
Senior Libby Evan and junior Jina Hyun are representing the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis in Varsity Art XXIV. The annual exhibition, which opens Feb. 28, is hosted by Art St. Louis and features work by undergraduate and graduate students from St. Louis college- and university-level art programs.

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis will unveil a suite of five new galleries Feb. 7, during the opening reception for its spring exhibitions.
Sam Fox School launches spring lecture series
Artist Michael Joo, architect Lola Sheppard and designer Rob Giampietro are among the international array of cutting-edge visual thinkers who will visit St. Louis as part of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ spring Public Lecture Series. In all, the series, which begins Feb. 3, will feature 16 presentations by renowned artists, architects, curators and designers.
Levy named 2019-20 Freund Teaching Fellow
Dana Levy, an internationally renowned artist whose work frequently explores tensions between the man-made and natural worlds, has been appointed the 2019-20 Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Teaching Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. The fellowship, jointly sponsored by the Saint Louis Art Museum and the university’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, is designed to promote the creation and exhibition of contemporary art as well as the teaching of contemporary art principles.

‘Multiplied: Edition MAT and the Transformable Work of Art’
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, Daniel Spoerri recruited dozens of leading artists to create and edition nearly 50 transformable, participatory artworks as multiples — a term Spoerri helped to coin. This spring, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum will present “Multiplied: Edition MAT and the Transformable Work of Art,” the first major U.S. exhibition to survey the entirety of Spoerri’s pioneering project.
