Time to renew employee U-Pass to ride MetroLink, Metro buses for free
Washington University employees’ current U-Pass — allowing WUSTL faculty and staff free use of Metro, the region’s public transportation system — will expire June 30. Benefits-eligible employees may request a new U-Pass for the 2013-14 fiscal year at the Parking & Transportation Services website.
Library hosts summer social media classes
Several Libraries staff members are offering a series of free workshops this summer to help students, faculty, and staff tap the practical powers of social media. Topics range from an overview of social media marketing to an in-depth look at specific uses of Twitter.
Media Advisory: St. Louis-area ROTC commissioning ceremony
On May 15, the director of the U.S. Army’s Center for Army Leadership will travel from Fort Leavenworth, Kan., to preside over the St. Louis-area Army ROTC commissioning ceremony for graduates from Washington University, St. Louis University, Maryville University, Lindenwood University and Webster University.

Children from the WUSTL Family Learning Center on North Campus donned caps and gowns to celebrate their graduation from preschool at a ceremony held at the center May 13. Now on to kindergarten!
Dining Services and seniors say ‘goodbye’ and ‘thank you’
On Friday, May 10, WUSTL Dining Services offered graduating seniors the chance to savor and sample their favorite dishes from their four years on campus. Held in the Danforth University Center and part of Senior Week, the event featured a “Taste of WUSTL Dining Services” with five stations of fare from Holmes Lounge, the DUC, South Forty, the Village and the Bakery.
‘Senior Send-Off’ Dining Services event open to all
On Friday, May 10, from 2-4 p.m. at the Edison Family Courtyard outside the DUC, WUSTL Dining Services is offering graduating seniors the opportunity to take one more delicious trip down memory lane with an event highlighting the food and favorite Dining Services staff members from their four years at Washington University. Faculty, staff and guests are invited to join the festivities.

Trustees meet, elect new members and officers
At its spring meeting May 3, the Board of Trustees of Washington University in St. Louis elected two new members to the board, re-elected six members and elected officers, among other actions, according to Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton.
Excellence in Leadership Awards recognize students and campus groups
Undergraduate student leaders and student groups who actively demonstrate exemplary leadership, service and commitment to the campus community were recognized during the Excellence in Leadership Awards ceremony, held April 28 in Holmes Lounge, Ridgley Hall.
