Three elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences
Three WUSTL professors have been elected fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. They are: Ursula Goodenough, Ph.D., professor of biology in Arts & Sciences; James V. Wertsch, Ph.D., the Marshall S. Snow Professor in Arts & Sciences and director of the McDonnell International Scholars Academy; and Wayne Yokoyama, M.D., the Sam J. Levin and Audrey Loew Levin Chair for Research on Arthritis, professor of medicine and director of the Center for Arthritis and Related Disorders.

Brookings Institution and WUSTL form academic partnership

The Olin Business School also will lead management of Brookings’ executive education activities, effective July 1. Missouri high school science achievement tied to quality teachers, study finds
While public officials aim to establish Missouri as an attractive place for emerging life sciences companies to start, a study by researchers at Washington University in St. Louis indicates that high school science proficiency in the state, especially among high-minority and poverty populations, is greatly dependent on having a core group of certified teachers who are highly qualified to teach courses in their content area.
