Washington People: Rhonda Matt

It’s common for School of Medicine employees to work here for 20 or more years. But it’s less common to meet an employee who has been here since she was 15 years old. That employee is Rhonda Matt, director of research and business operations for the Department of Pediatrics.

Center for Biological Systems Engineering kicks off with symposium

Researchers from the new interdisciplinary Center for Biological Systems Engineering at Washington University will host its inaugural symposium, sponsored by Lockheed Martin, from 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in Whitaker Hall, Room 100. Rohit V. Pappu, PhD, professor of biomedical engineering, directs the new center. Lockheed Martin is sponsoring the symposium.

Applications sought for K12 Career Development program

Applications for the K12 Clinical Hematology Research Career Development Program scholars are being accepted through Oct. 22. The K12 Career Development Program is aimed at clinical or research fellows, instructors or recently appointed assistant professors committed to research in non-malignant hematology.
