We are living at the dawn of the drone age. In January, the Kemper Art Museum will present “To See Without Being Seen: Contemporary Art and Drone Warfare.” The exhibition raises timely questions about power, technology, surveillance and fear.
Paglen begins Sam Fox School lecture series
Can technology be at once ubiquitous and invisible? Artist Trevor Paglen, who will speak on campus Feb. 1, deploys photography, sculpture, engineering and investigative journalism to document drones, satellites, fiber-optic cables and other “hidden” systems.
DUC Chamber Series begins Jan. 20

New MFA in Dance

Washington University faculty receive Fulbrights
Five Washington University in St. Louis faculty have been awarded Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program grants to study abroad during the 2015-16 academic year. Alberti Program to partner with PGAV Destinations
St. Louis-based design firm PGAV Destinations has pledged $125,000 and the volunteer time of its leading designers to support The Alberti Program at Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts for the next five years.

Mossotti, Ward-Brown win Regional Arts Commission Artist Fellowships
Denise Ward-Brown, associate professor in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University in St. Louis, and poet Travis Mossotti, a grant analyst in the university’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, are among 10 recipients of the Regional Arts Commission’s 2015 Artist Fellowships.
