Talking evolution for the Assembly Series

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian Edward J. Larson will present, “From Dayton to Dover: A Brief History of the Evolution Teaching Controversy in the U.S.” at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Louderman Hall, Room 458. The Assembly Series program is this year’s Thomas S. Hall Lecture.

Celebrate WUSTL’s champions Feb. 7

Before watching other champions on television Super Bowl Sunday, come celebrate our champions at 3 p.m. at the WU Athletic Complex. The 2009 NCAA Division III women’s volleyball national championship team will be honored, along with the 2009 NCAA Division III national runner-up women’s soccer team.

Freling shares his vision to light up the world

Robert Freling, executive director of the Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF), will discuss his work at 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, in Graham Chapel. This Assembly Series program is being co-sponsored by Engineers Without Borders student organization, the Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurship, and the African Public Interest Law and Conflict Initiative.

Representing the broad interests of the Washington University community, the Assembly Series begins Wednesday, Jan. 27, with environmentalist Amory Lovins and concludes April 21 with playwright and director Mary Zimmerman.
