Sadena Thevarajah: 2010 Outstanding Graduate in the School of Law
Sadena Thevarajah feels that the best way to address health-care inequality is to become an attorney. Another step toward that journey will be complete May 21 when Thevarajah, the Record‘s 2010 Outstanding Graduate in the School of Law, receives her juris doctorate from WUSTL.
John Witty: 2010 Outstanding Graduate in Art
John Witty, the Record‘s 2010 Outstanding Graduate in Art in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, has studied the Renaissance and could be called a bit of a Renaissance man. He’ll earn a bachelor of fine arts in printmaking from the Sam Fox School with majors in art history and German, both in Arts & Sciences.
A night of celebration
Students kicked off Commencement Week May 17 with an evening of celebration in downtown St. Louis. More than 1,200 graduating seniors gathered for the Chancellor’s Dinner and Senior Gala.
Michele Tsai: 2010 Outstanding Graduate in the College of Arts & Sciences
Michelle Tsai, who was born with a congenital heart defect, aims to make a career out of helping children with chronic medical conditions. Getting a dual degree May 21 in psychology and in philosophy-neuroscience-psycholo, she has been chosen by the Record an Outstanding Graduate in the College of Arts & Sciences
A new world record
A new Guinness World Record was set May 16 at the Athletic Complex as 710 WUSTL seniors and administrators formed the longest human shoulder massage chain in history. The previous record of 617 people was set in January in Canada. Students will submit the event to Guinness for verification and to be listed on the organization’s website as an official world record.

Flight day
More than 150 St. Louis-area high school students gathered May 7 in the Field House to launch their custom-built aluminum gliders as part of the Boeing Engineering Challenge Final Flight. The Engineering Challenge — the culmination of a series of technical meetings, design reviews and prototype development activities — is a partnership between Boeing and WUSTL intended to get high school students excited about the engineering field.
Jaimie McFarlin: 2010 Outstanding Graduate in Olin Business School
Jaimie McFarlin is a leader, motivator and NCAA national champion in women’s basketball. On May 21 McFarlin, chosen by the Record as an Outstanding Graduate from the Olin Business School, will pick up one more well-deserved honor: A master’s of business administration.

Jack Duncan: 2010 Outstanding Graduate in the College of Arts & Sciences
Jack Duncan grew up in Virginia learning never to waste anything, especially those two most precious human and natural treasures — time and resources. Duncan, who will graduate May 21 with a degree in environmental studies, has been chosen by the Record as an Outstanding Graduate in the College of Arts & Sciences.
