At the Washington University in St. Louis Board of Trustees meeting Oct. 5, the following faculty were appointed with tenure or promoted with tenure, effective that day.

Gary Gaddis, MD, PhD, professor of emergency medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named a fellow of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. He is one of two American emergency medicine physicians to receive the honor this year.

Washington University reminds students that to ensure student and employee security and privacy, students, faculty and staff must use two-factor authentication (2FA) when accessing campus services and systems from off campus. Voluntary WashU 2FA enrollment is open for students and will be required beginning Nov. 28.

Washington University in St. Louis has been selected to host the 2018 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Sectional on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at Francis Field.

Jennifer Silva, MD, a pediatric electrophysiologist at the School of Medicine, treats children with abnormal heart rhythms. She has co-founded a startup that is developing technology to help doctors see real-time 3D holograms of the heart during procedures to fix erratic heart rhythms.

The Parking and Transportation team at Washington University in St. Louis is providing important alerts and reminders to the campus community and an update on future plans, including focus groups, vehicle storage options and a new shuttle service.

The next universitywide blood drive will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, on the Danforth and Medical campuses. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate. 

Lei Liu, professor of biostatistics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been elected a fellow of the American Statistical Association, the country’s preeminent professional statistical society.
