29 WUSTL students invited to CGI U at Arizona State University
More than two-dozen WUSTL students have been invited to attend Clinton Global Initiative University in Arizona this weekend. One team’s project would help loved ones connect after disasters. And graduate student DeAndrea Nichols was chosen to help open the meeting. WUSTL hosted last year’s event.
McDonnell International Scholars Academy students travel to New York, meet leaders in finance, media and government
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Washington University in St. Louis’ McDonnell scholars earlier this month. During a spring break trip to New York, McDonnell Academy scholars also met a former Federal Reserve chairman and other leaders in media, politics and finance.
Spring Preview welcomes admitted students
For the next several weeks, newly admitted students will tour campus, visit classes and learn more about WUSTL’s schools and programs.
WUSTL community invited to sing in annual Chancellor’s Concert
All WUSTL faculty, staff and students are invited to sing with the WUSTL Chamber Choir and WUSTL Concert Choir as part of the annual Chancellor’s Concert, to be held April 13. Auditions will be held through Friday, Jan. 24.
Campus blood drive coming up
The next university-wide blood drive will be Tuesday, Jan. 28, at seven locations throughout WUSTL. All students, staff and faculty members are encouraged to participate in this effort to replenish the region’s blood supply, which has been especially hard-hit due to the recent wintry weather.
Trustees grant faculty promotions
Some School of Medicine faculty members were appointed with tenure or promoted with tenure at the Board of Trustees meeting Dec. 6. Read more for details.

WUSTL faculty, administrators recognize December degree candidates
Washington University in St. Louis faculty and administrators recognized the December degree candidates during a ceremony, held Dec. 7 in Graham Chapel. WUSTL trustee Maxine K. Clark, founder of Build-A-Bear Workshop, and Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton delivered remarks to the candidates. More than 820 students filed as December degree candidates.
