Sheren presents at street art conference

Ila Sheren, PhD, assistant professor of art history and archaeology in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, made a presentation at the International Conference on Street Art and Urban Creativity in July in Lisbon, Portugal.

Bien-Willner receives American Cancer Society grant

Gabriel Bien-Willner, MD, PhD, instructor in the Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has received a one-year $30,000 grant from the American Cancer Society for research titled “Identification of Genomic AML Fusion Onco-protein Targets with Calling Cards.”

Awards bring two faculty members new opportunities

Faculty members Darren Dochuk, PhD, and Nancy Reynolds, PhD, will delve into new experiences thanks to awards they received this spring. Dochuk received a residency in China, and Reynolds won a New Directions Fellowship, which allows faculty to train outside their own area of interest.

Our Washington: serving students

WUSTL faculty and staff are urged to donate to Our Washington, Together We Make a Difference. Among other things, the campaign helps fund scholarships, support academic initiatives and build new facilities across the Danforth and Medical campuses. Longtime donor Michael Kass, MD, established a scholarship fund to ease the financial burden of medical school.
