Faculty Achievement Award nominations sought
Nominations are being accepted for the annual Faculty Achievement Awards, known as the Arthur Holly Compton Faculty Achievement Award and the Carl and Gerty Cori Faculty Achievement Award. The nomination deadline is Feb. 12.
North memorial service planned Jan. 29
A memorial service to honor Nobel Prize-winning economist Douglass C. North, PhD, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in Graham Chapel. A reception will follow in Holmes Lounge, Ridgley Hall. North died in November.
Next round of Boeing patent challenge begins
The Skandalaris Center is continuing its partnership with Boeing’s Phantom Works Ventures. Students have an opportunity to commercialize Boeing patents in non-aerospace applications. Information sessions are scheduled today, Jan. 22 and 25.
Obituary: Wilfred R. Konneker, trustee emeritus, 93
Wilfred R. Konneker, PhD ’50, a trustee emeritus of Washington University, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, in St. Louis. He was 93.
Faculty, staff can offer input on recreation center pricing
The Office of Recreation Programs and Services will hold two focus groups next week of current and retired faculty and staff to discuss membership pricing in the Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center. Sessions will be from 5:15-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, and from 12:15-1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in the Athletics Complex.
Chancellor’s Concert auditions Jan. 19-25
The Washington University Choirs will host open auditions today through Monday, Jan. 25, for the 2016 Chancellor’s Concert. Presented by the Department of Music in Arts & Sciences, the Chancellor’s Concert is among the university’s largest annual events.

Harvey Media Center open house Wednesday
The Harvey Media Center in the Danforth University Center will hold an open house from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, for students, faculty and staff to learn more about the resources available there.
Staff/faculty day with Bears basketball is Saturday
Bears basketball Staff/Faculty and Family Day will be Saturday, Jan. 9, against the University of Chicago. The No. 11-ranked women’s team tips off at 1 p.m. at the Field House, followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Town hall planned tomorrow on TAMPITI trial
A town hall meeting will be held to discuss the TAMPITI trial and the importance of research in emergency medicine. The meeting is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, in the North Building’s Moore Auditorium on the Medical Campus.
