Provost Beverly Wendland has appointed a committee to identify candidates for the position of vice provost and university librarian at Washington University.

Washington University has joined 37 other universities and partner organizations to launch the Taskforce on Higher Education and Opportunity. The task force will study how to ensure graduates succeed in the post-pandemic economy, strengthen partnerships with local communities and reimagine higher education in a way that supports students of all backgrounds.

Dorothy Elliott, founding assistant director of the John B. Ervin Scholars Program, died Jan. 24, 2021, at her home in St. Louis. She was 84. Affectionately known as Mrs. E., Elliott was a sounding board, champion and second mother to generations of Ervin scholars.
