The Office of Military and Veteran Services is inviting faculty and staff to participate in its Veteran Ally Program. Sessions are scheduled Oct. 7 and Oct. 14.

Many summer internships are unpaid or pay little. Chancellor Andrew D. Martin created a new program so more students, regardless of family income, can afford to have these meaningful career experiences.

College Prep Program is accepting nominations for the next cohort of its innovative college readiness initiative. The nomination deadline is Oct. 15.

The Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity is accepting applications for funding opportunities. Faculty affiliates are invited to design a new graduate-level seminar for the 2022-23 academic year. The deadline is Oct. 15.

Menstrual products are now available at no charge in restrooms in some 30 buildings on Washington University in St. Louis’ Danforth Campus. And soon, such products will be available on the Medical Campus.

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of 9/11, members of the Washington University College Republicans will plant 2,977 flags — one for each victim of the deadly attacks — on the Danforth Campus’ Mudd Field beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10.

In many respects, Washington University was lucky. The city was spared and, in the end, no student lost a close family member in the attacks. Still, students suffered.

The Office of the Provost has launched “Return and Reset,” a collection of programs and resources designed to help faculty navigate the new academic year.  Programming kicks off Sept. 15.

Two big changes are coming to Commencement at Washington University. The annual ceremony is moving from Brookings Quadrangle to historic Francis Olympic Field. And, starting next year, Commencement will be followed by a celebration featuring lawn games, live entertainment and food from St. Louis eateries.
