Olin Library expands overnight hours
Following a successful trial run during the 2012-2013 academic year, Olin Library has expanded 24-hour access to five nights a week. Olin Library is now open from 10 a.m. on Sunday mornings to 8 p.m. on Friday evenings when fall and spring semester classes are in session.
MetroLink repairs close portions of the 276 Skinker Building sidewalk
Portions of the 276 Skinker Building south sidewalk will be closed as Metro repairs a collapsed beam. Work should last two to three weeks.
New website spotlights St. Louis’ attractions, neighborhoods and culture
The website My St. Louis encourages students to get off campus and explore St. Louis’ neigborhoods and attractions. The site also offers a look at St. Louis politics, history and culture.
Summer photo contest winners announced
Students captured life on campus and abroad for WUSTL’s first summer photo contest. Winning images will be displayed in January Hall next month.
Washington University media specialist and LouFest founder Brian Cohen brings top indie acts to St. Louis
Washington University media specialist Brian Cohen loved music festivals so much that he created one here in St. Louis. Loufest features indie rock’s top acts including Wilco, the Killers, Alabama Shakes and the National. This year’s event runs Sept. 7-8 in Forest Park.
Work-study students available to fill campus jobs
Work-study students are available to perform a variety of campus jobs. The federal government will cover 45 percent of a student’s wages.

Service First Trip beautifies neighborhood schools
Service First,one of Washington University’s biggest and most beloved community service programs, returns Aug. 31. Some 1,1oo first-year students plus many more staff and faculty will paint murals, pull weeds and organize libraries at 12 St. Louis schools.
Whispers Café now serves frozen yogurt
The newly renovated Whispers Café introduced frozen yogurt. Other new dining options include a sushi happy hour at Ibby’s, gyros at Ursa’s and Asian street food at the Bear’s Den.
