Wysession receives award for geosciences education

Michael Wysession, professor of earth and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences, has been recognized for his exceptional leadership in geosciences education by the Seismological Society of America with the 2016 Frank Press Public Service Award.

Regional emergency response exercise planned for April 26

The St. Louis Area Regional Response System (STARRS) will conduct a full-scale emergency exercise on Tuesday, April 26 in various locations throughout the St. Louis region, including Washington University’s South Campus, located at 6501 Clayton Road.

One person injured in shooting on Forsyth Blvd.

At 1:30 p.m. today, a person was injured in a shooting on Forsyth Boulevard near the Mallinckrodt Center of Washington University in St. Louis. The injuries are believed to be non-life threatening and the victim has been transported to the hospital for medical care.

Award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa will be the keynote speaker at the campus-wide Day of Discovery & Dialogue, to be held Feb. 24-25 at Washington University. Her talk, titled “Inclusion: Finding New Ways of Thinking, Inspiring Action,” will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, in the Eric P. Newman Education Center on the Medical Campus.
