Record on hiatus for Thanksgiving holidays

The Record daily email takes a break for the Thanksgiving holidays after Nov. 20 and resumes publication Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Record staff wishes everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday.

Student chapter collects ‘Locks of Love’ for children

The student-run local chapter of Locks of Love encouraged WUSTL community members to participate in the annual campus-wide hair drive Nov. 12. The drive yielded $600 and 26 hair donations. All hair and money collected is sent to the Locks of Love national organization, which aims to help restore self-esteem and confidence in children afflicted by disease-related, long-term hair loss.

Geography Awareness Week Nov. 12-16

Nov. 12-16 is Geography Awareness Week at WUSTL. The Geographic Information Systems office at WUSTL is sponsoring a number of sessions highlighting resources available through the university. Attendees can learn how to organize, analyze and present spatial information.

Sports update Nov. 12: Women’s soccer advances to Sweet 16 with pair of wins

The No. 3 women’s soccer team advanced to the Sweet 16 with a pair of victories at home last weekend. WUSTL advances to the sectional semifinals for the second-straight season and will take on No. 14 Concordia College (Moorhead) at 3 p.m. Friday at Francis Field. The Bears will host the NCAA Sectional for the first time in school history. In the other Sectional semifinal Friday, No. 2 Hardin-Simmons University will take on No. 11 Wheaton College (Ill.) at 5:30 p.m.

Evaluate WUSTL Dining Services in online survey

To evaluate campus food services, Washington University Dining Services is asking the university community to fill out a short survey. Two survey participants will be randomly selected for “Dinner for 2” at Ibby’s.

Students dance on behalf of local pediatric patients

Students, faculty and staff from WUSTL, Fontbonne University and Ladue High School danced the night away Nov. 3 during this year’s St. Louis Area Dance Marathon in the Athletic Complex. More than 600 participated in the 12-hour event to celebrate yearlong fundraising efforts yielding $128,569.22. All funds benefit the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals — St. Louis Children’s Hospital and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.
