RecycleMania a success
Washington University recycled 489,759 pounds of waste this spring to rank No. 21 out of 200 schools in the annual RecycleMania contest’s Gorilla category, which is based on total recycled materials collected. WUSTL’s 489,759 total pounds was good enough to rank No. 1 in the state of Missouri and No. 9 among private colleges and universities nationwide.

Danforth Campus parking changes announced for 2008-09
WUSTL’s commitment to increase green space on the Danforth Campus and promote sustainability has prompted the University to reassess its parking offerings for the 2008-09 academic year — adding the Occasional Parking Program and adjusting parking fees.
MetLife to give workshops on special-needs dependents
WUSTL’s Office of Human Resources invites all faculty and staff to an annual workshop on “Planning for the Future of a Child or Other Dependents With Special Needs.” A representative from MetLife’s Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids will conduct the workshop and discuss a service called MetDesk.

Championship rally
The 2008 NCAA Division III National Champion basketball team will be recognized at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the Field House. Festivities will include unveiling the championship banner, a presentation of the championship trophy and comments from the team. Free pizza, championship posters and 2008 NCAA Championship T-shirts will be available while supplies last.

Joseph Levitt, M.D., professor of clinical medicine, died Sunday, March 30. He was 86.
