The Washington University Police Department and Parking Services, in partnership with Hartmann’s Towing, will sponsor a free vehicle inspection service to students, faculty and staff Saturday, Dec. 5. The inspections will be held outside of Alumni House off of Wallace Drive between noon and 3 p.m. Inspection staff will check tire pressure, fluid levels, wipers and headlights and taillights.

At recent Board of Trustees meetings, the following faculty members were appointed with tenure, promoted with tenure or granted tenure effective July 1, 2009, unless otherwise noted.

The Campus Store will give Washington University faculty and staff members an opportunity to do some early holiday shopping. The store will hold its 12th annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation Event Dec. 2 and will offer a 30 percent discount to Washington University faculty and staff members from 3-8 p.m.

Faculty and staff must register by Friday, Dec. 11, to win one of 20 season PassPorts to The Black Rep. A season PassPort contains five ticket vouchers, which are redeemable at any time during the 2010 season.

Women undergraduate and graduate students at Washington University in St. Louis can discuss post-graduation choices and how to attain a successful, fulfilling life at “Composing a Life” Nov. 17 from 6-8 p.m. in the Whitaker Hall Auditorium. The discussion, hosted by the Women’s Society of Washington University, will feature five women with career experience in an array of fields, from graphic design to law to nonprofit.
