Previously the chair of statistics at the University of Illinois, Bo Li is the Stanley A. Sawyer Professor in Statistics and Data Science in Arts & Sciences at WashU. She is a leading statistician specializing in spatial and spatio-temporal statistics and environmental statistics concerning problems in climatology, atmospheric sciences, public health, forestry and agriculture.
Li is also interested in Bayesian hierarchical modeling, functional data methods and spatial extremes. Li earned a bachelor’s degree at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, master’s degrees at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Texas A&M University, and a doctorate at Texas A&M.
