StEP, Washington University in St. Louis’ Student Entrepreneurial Program, gives undergraduates the ultimate entrepreneurship experience: creating and running their own businesses.
The program was founded in 1999 with the goal of bringing together student businesses already on campus and encouraging the creation of new ones. The first five StEP businesses opened their doors in January 2000 in Gregg Residence Hall. Today, there are 10 businesses, and 44 student owners, involved in the StEP program.
