During summer 2011, the university’s director of market research emailed a readership survey to more than 34,000 members of Washington Magazine’s alumni community.
The editors of Washington would like to thank the more than 3,700 who responded — those who took the time to provide feedback to questions regarding the print magazine, online magazine and bimonthly email announcement.
At this time, the Washington Magazine staff is reviewing a final report of the findings, provided by the director of market research, and is discussing ways to implement some of the prevailing suggestions.
Overall, the majority of respondents agree that Washington Magazine strengthens their connection to the university, with 79 percent choosing agree or somewhat agree.
The print magazine rated as the primary channel whereby alumni receive some to most of their information about the university.
Seventy-eight percent of respondents want the print version, with 23 percent wanting both print and online versions. Only 14 percent of respondents prefer receiving Washington Magazine solely online.
Again, thank you to those who responded to the survey; please look for additional findings and subsequent changes in upcoming issues.
