Hylarie McMahon, professor emerita, artist, 94
Hylarie McMahon, a professor emerita of art in the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, died Oct. 1 following a short illness. She was 94. McMahon was known for large, richly painted fabric hangings inspired by kites, parachutes, sails and butterflies.
