Play therapy relieves preschool depression

A form of play therapy between parents and their toddlers can relieve depression in preschoolers, according to child psychiatry researchers at the School of Medicine. For the study, the researchers adapted a play-based technique known as parent-child interaction therapy, adding a focus on emotional development. FULL STORY

Kemper to showcase Three Decades of Printmaking

On Friday, Jan. 28, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum  opens Island Press: Three Decades of Printmaking. Curated by Karen K. Cancer information tool wins national contest

Health 2.0 and the National Cancer Institute recently named Ozioma, an online cancer information tool from WUSTL’s Health Communication Research Laboratory, one of two winners of a national contest. Ozioma helps reporters and media relations professionals create localized cancer stories aimed at specific populations. FULL STORY

Gephardt Institute names service-learning grant recipients

The Gephardt Institute has announced the recipients of the Innovation Grants for Community-Based Teaching and Learning. Also known as service-learning, community-based teaching and learning is a growing pedagogy.   • Another week, another track record. Junior Dan Davis became the second runner in as many weeks to set a school record in the 60-meter hurdles. Davis submitted a time of 8.32 in the Jan. 22 Illinois College Snowbird Open in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries, matching the school record set the previous week by classmate Tyler Jackson.
