New nanoparticles make blood clots visible

For almost two decades, cardiologists have searched for ways to see dangerous blood clots before they cause heart attacks. Now, researchers at the School of Medicine report that they have designed nanoparticles that find clots and make them visible to a new kind of X-ray technology. FULL STORY

Laura Rosenbury elected to American Law Institute

Laura Rosenbury, JD, associate dean for research and faculty development and professor at the School of Law, has been elected to the American Law Institute (ALI), a national independent organization that focuses on producing scholarly work to clarify and modernize the law.   • Track records set. At the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Engineer Invitational Jan. 29, junior hurdler Dan Davis posted a time of 7.50 in the 55-meter hurdles finals, which set a new WUSTL record and automatically qualified him for the 2011 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. Junior hurdler Tyler Jackson finished .12 seconds behind Davis to finish second and meet provisional qualifying standards for the NCAA championships. Senior Dave Spandorfer placed third in the mile with a time of 4:15.20, a provisional time and a new WUSTL record.
