Modern take on Shakespeare classic

William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a study in contrasts, joining elegant verse and bawdy humor with cruel punishments and magical enchantments “past the wit of man.” Beginning Friday, Feb. 25, the Performing Arts Department in Arts & Sciences will present the Bard’s most popular comedy as its spring Mainstage production. Trichinosis parasite DNA decoded

Reducing labs’ carbon footprint focus of sustainability competition

Proposals ranging from sharing electricity savings with lab users to allowing students to bid on how much electricity they can save are among the ideas that students suggested in the Olin Sustainability Case Competition. Neureuther competition seeks book-collecting entrants

Students who have a passion for collecting books can compete for prizes of $1,000 or $500 by entering the 24th annual Neureuther Student Book Collection Essay Competition. Sponsored by Washington University Libraries, the Neureuther competition offers prizes to four students who write short essays about their personal book collections. FULL STORY

The No. 9 women’s basketball team improved to 20-4 and bolstered its chances of earning an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament with a pair of home victories last weekend.
