A Danforth staff advisory council is being created, and all interested Danforth staff members are invited to apply for a position. The council will provide a platform for ongoing and consistent communication between Danforth staff and the senior administration.

A new study shows that infant deaths and injuries attributed to crib bumpers have spiked significantly in recent years, prompting researchers to call for a nationwide ban on the bedding accessory. The findings indicate that in the majority of incidents studied, crib bumpers were the sole cause of harm.

Sociologist Adia Harvey Wingfield, of Arts & Sciences, writes in The Atlantic about the lack of racial and gender diversity at STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) companies. She says black men can offer support to women at such companies, and that they bring a unique perspective, being in both a majority and a minority.

Now that most roadwork at the Medical Center has been completed, the shuttle buses have been rerouted and renamed. The new routes begin today. Buses now will be identified with a name instead of a color.
