In 2017, Washington University will begin one of the most significant recent capital projects: transformation of the east end of the Danforth Campus. The comprehensive plan includes new academic facilities to support the core missions of teaching and research and expansive green space that better connects academic programs and provides a more inviting gathering place.

St. Louis philanthropists Andrew and Barbara Taylor have committed $10 million to support scholarships for undergraduates at Washington University, Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton announced. The Taylors’ gift brings the total raised for Leading Together: The Campaign for Washington University to $2 billion.

At its fall meeting Thursday and Friday, Oct. 1 and 2, the university’s Board of Trustees heard special reports on the university’s endowment, as well as updates on administrative appointments, admissions, athletics and capital improvements.
