Certain personality traits can lead to more stressful life events, and new research from Arts & Sciences shows those events in turn relate to health problems in older adults. The study, led by Juliette Iacovino, a graduate student studying clinical psychology, is published online in the Journal of Personality.

With “Boîte-en-valise,” Marcel Duchamp created an artistic retrospective the size of a salesman’s sample case. Now the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum has acquired for its permanent collection an early example of this important work by one of the 20th century’s most influential artists.

A second round of funding in the Ferguson Academic Seed Fund program is now available, the Offices of the Chancellor and the Provost announced. Matthew Mutch, MD, a nationally known clinician and educator in the laparoscopic treatment of colorectal cancer, has been named chief of Colon and Rectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine. Mutch is program director of the university’s Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship.
