The greatest risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease is advancing age. Researchers at the School of Medicine have identified some of the key changes in the aging brain that lead to the increased risk. The changes center on amyloid beta 42, a main ingredient of Alzheimer’s brain plaques.

A team of students on the Medical Campus recently won top honors in the Neuro Startup Challenge, a biotech startup competition designed to commercialize promising brain-related discoveries of scientists at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The team developed a business plan to commercialize a test for patients with multiple sclerosis.

Olin Business School is hosting seven of the nation’s top finance scholars for an intensive, four-day program geared for doctoral business students and university faculty. More than 130 participants are gathered on the Danforth Campus through tomorrow for “Summer School: Financial Intermediation and Contracting.” Ohad Kadan, PhD, is chair of the organizing committee.
