Sheretta Butler-Barnes, PhD, assistant professor at the Brown School, is working to change that.

The School of Medicine and St. Louis Children’s Hospital have opened a new pediatric medical center — the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Specialty Care Center — at Interstate 64/Highway 40 and Mason Road in west St. Louis County. The center welcomed its first patients June 2.

Munish C. Gupta, MD, has been appointed professor and chief of spine surgery in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the School of Medicine. He comes from the University of California, Davis and will assume his new duties Sept. 1.

Construction to upgrade a storm-sewer line on Duncan Avenue west of Newstead Avenue has been delayed. The project led to closure of the north entrance to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital staff garage. A completion date has not been determined.
The Brown School is offering a course to help people chart their encore career path. The deadline for the four-session August evening program is July 28.
