The world’s best memory athletes compete this weekend at the 2nd Annual Extreme Memory Tournament in San Diego for a battery of head-to-head memory showdowns. The university is a co-sponsor of the event, and a research team led by Henry L. “Roddy” Roediger, PhD, will study the contestants.

Longtime benefactors Stephen F. and Camilla T. Brauer were presented with the Search Award at the 48th annual William Greenleaf Eliot Society dinner April 22. “Through their friendship, leadership and generosity, they have left a lasting mark on the university and the St. Louis community,” Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton said.

Philip Needleman, PhD, former chair of the Department of Pharmacology at the School of Medicine, has been elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is among 197 men and women elected this year by the academy.

A special free screening of the documentary “The Hunting Ground” will take place at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 in Seigle Hall, Room L006. The documentary explores sexual violence on college campuses.
