Working to impact black youth’s development

Sean Joe, PhD, researches mental health, suicide and family-based methods to help black teens avoid self-destructive behavior. Joe, the Benjamin E. Youngdahl Professor in Social Development at the Brown School, joined the university this fall.

Injuries to six brain areas are much more devastating to patients’ abilities to think and adapt to everyday challenges than damage to other parts of the brain, scientists at the School of Medicine have learned.‬

Kemper brings art to MetroLink

The Kemper Art Museum has brought “How to Build a Universe That Falls Apart Two Days Later,” by Danish artist Jakob Kolding, to the Skinker MetroLink station on the Danforth Campus. The piece explores the gaps between how architectural spaces are planned and how they’re actually used.

Rebecca Rothney (AB ’71) has been named a “Traveler of the Year” by National Geographic Traveler. Rothney founded the nonprofit organization Pack for a Purpose.
