The same viruses that make us sick can take up residence in and on the human body without provoking a sneeze, cough or other troublesome symptom, according to new research at the School of Medicine.

Kinch appointed director of new Center for Research Innovation in Business

Michael S. Kinch, PhD, joins the university as associate vice chancellor and director of the new Center for Research Innovation in Business. Provost H. Holden Thorp, PhD, made the announcement. Kinch had been managing director of the Yale Center for Molecular Discovery.

New research explores ‘ecosystems of entrepreneurship’

​A new study by researchers from Washington University and the Kauffman Foundation explores how entrepreneurial hubs emerge and succeed when they are surrounded by favorable support systems. The paper is based on a case study of the St. Louis region, which has seen a recent, substantial transformation of its local entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Obituary: Felicia Ausbury, Alumni Relations, 42

​Felicia Ausbury, senior associate director in Alumni Relations at Washington University in St. Louis, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at her home in St. Charles, Mo., after battling cancer for more than a year. She was 42.
