A groundbreaking multidisciplinary study on African-American health in St. Louis, “For the Sake of All,” releases its fourth brief. This one examines the long-term effects of how segregation affects access to health-promoting resources and health outcomes such as chronic disease and death.

In the age of e-readers, is the printed book obsolete? Today, cultural historian Robert Darnton, DPhil, author of The Case for Books: Past, Present, and Future, will present the keynote address for “Celebrating Our Books, Recognizing Our Authors,” WUSTL’s 12th annual faculty book colloquium.

‘Nick Week’ kicks off with a Nick Offerman-inspired trivia night

Students took part in a themed trivia night inspired by the popular mustache-sporting character portrayed by Nick Offerman on the TV show Parks and Recreation. Offerman will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Edison Theatre. WUSTL students can secure tickets to see him today outside Edison.

Gephardt Institute’s Civic Engagement Fund seeks applicants

The Gephardt Institute for Public Service invites WUSTL students, faculty and staff to apply for the Civic Engagement Fund. CEF grants provide up to $500 for projects in the St. Louis area and beyond. The deadline for the upcoming funding round is Friday, Dec. 6.
