School of Medicine faculty recently presented about 20 ideas to WUSTL students during IDEA Labs’ inaugural “Problem Day” in hopes that they might be able to devise solutions. IDEA Labs — or Innovation, Design and Engineering in Action — is a bioengineering design incubator founded last year as a joint venture of the medical and engineering schools and the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences.

Veteran physician Cheri LeBlanc, MD, has been treating patients during one of life’s most critical periods: the college years. As WUSTL’s new director of student health and wellness, LeBlanc hopes to educate students in ways that will last a lifetime.

Sir Christopher Greenwood, LLB, the British judge on the International Court of Justice, will be at WUSTL to discuss how that court works to bring about world peace. Greenwood will speak at noon Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Anheuser-Busch Hall’s Bryan Cave Moot Courtroom.

Nirupama Rao, Indian ambassador to the United States, spoke about U.S.-India relations during a visit to WUSTL Oct. 19. Her lecture was the capstone to the WUSTL-Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Corporate Conclave. The conclave aims to strengthen U.S.-Indian connections related to innovation and education, particularly to address pressing global issues.
