XPRIZE may create an Alzheimer’s XPRIZE to inspire the ingenuity of researchers to take on the daunting task of stopping the disorder. The Alzheimer’s XPRIZE was proposed by a team of experts co-directed by School of Medicine professor Eric C. Leuthardt, MD.

A new diagnostic test for a worm infection that eventually leads to severe enlargement and deformities of the legs and genitals is far more sensitive than the current test, according to results of a field study in Liberia, in West Africa, led by WUSTL researchers, including study co-author Kurt Curtis.

Renew U-Pass to ride free
on MetroLink, Metro buses
The current U-Pass — allowing WUSTL faculty and staff free use of Metro, the region’s public transportation system — will expire June 30. Benefits-eligible employees may request a new U-Pass for the 2013-14 fiscal year at the Parking & Transportation Services website.
