Four startup companies with ties to WUSTL have received $50,000 each in the Arch Grants 2013 Global Startup Competition designed to stimulate and support the early-stage entrepreneurial community in St. Louis.

Dining Services offered graduating seniors the chance to savor and sample favorite dishes from their four years on campus. Held in Danforth University Center as part of Senior Week, a “Taste of WUSTL Dining Services” featured five stations of fare from Holmes Lounge, the DUC, the South 40, the Village and the Bakery.

The Graduate School of Arts & Sciences recognized 15 teaching assistants for exemplary performance during an April 25 ceremony in the Women’s Building Formal Lounge. Departments and programs within Arts & Sciences nominate outstanding teaching assistants for the annual award, which includes a $1,500 cash prize and a certificate of recognition.

Friday, May 17, is National Bike to Work Day. For nearly 20 years, School of Medicine faculty Laura Bierut and Brad Evanoff (above) have been riding their bikes to work. Earlier this week, they rode their tandem bike to the Medical Campus. The two also encourage others to ride their bikes to work.
A meeting to help Danforth Campus employers learn the process and benefits of hiring Federal Work-Study Program students as employees next fall will be held Thursday, May 23.
