?Summer Writers Institute now more convenient
for working professionals

?The 18th annual Summer Writers Institute will be held this July on the Danforth Campus, giving writers of varying experience levels the opportunity to join a diverse and energetic writing community. Evening sessions will meet three days a week, rather than five, and weekend sessions will be afternoons only, rather than daylong seminars. The institute runs July 12-26.?

Time to ‘shake it up’: Senior class launches gift campaign

Hoping to help future generations of WUSTL students as they themselves have been helped, the Senior Class Council recently kicked off its Senior Gift Campaign with a rousing, fun video featuring Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton and a group of seniors dancing the Harlem Shake in the chancellor’s office.

Jacoby wins Lifetime Achievement Award
for contributions to experimental psychology

The Society of Experimental Psychologists has awarded its 2013 Norman Anderson Lifetime Achievement Award to Larry L. Jacoby, PhD, an internationally recognized scholar of human memory and a professor of psychology in
Arts & Sciences.

Social entrepreneurs win share of $164,000
at annual innovation competition

Winners of the eighth annual YouthBridge Social Enterprise and Innovation Competition and $164,000 in awards have been announced. Winning teams represented community and WUSTL social entrepreneurs. Their social venture ideas ranged widely, covering youth, teens, homelessness, and collaboration among all types of social enterprises.

Case-study challenge inspires students
to collaborate, improve patient care

A recent case-study competition organized by the Health Professional Student Leadership Council allowed students from various programs to learn how to collaborate across disciplines to improve patient care. Freshman Finale scheduled Tuesday

The annual Freshman Finale celebration will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, in College Hall on the South 40. The WUSTL community is invited. The signature event will include remarks from College of Arts & Sciences Dean Jennifer R. Smith and a class representative, as well as performances and awards.

WUSTL celebrates Earth Week starting Monday

WUSTL is celebrating Earth Day Monday, April 22, and many sustainability-themed events are planned for the week of April 22-26 on the Danforth and Medical campuses. On Monday, there will be a kickoff in Edison Courtyard and a climate change discussion.
