Obesity, aging genes may play role in arthritis

Studying gene activity in tissue removed from injured knees, School of Medicine researchers have found that genes related to obesity and aging may contribute to the development of osteoarthritis, the most common knee disorder.

Manuelli named James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor

Rodolfo Manuelli, PhD, professor of economics in Arts & Sciences, has been named a James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor in Arts & Sciences. A member of the economics faculty since 2008, Manuelli is an influential macroeconomist with expertise in topics such as economic growth and development, dynamic fiscal policy and inflation.
