The ability to access, search and interact with legal case documents that record the freedom suits of former slaves is now just a browser click away, thanks to a major initiative of the Digital Library Services unit of Washington University Libraries. The Libraries secured funding for the project from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, with the Missouri History Museum as an institutional partner. A video illustrates the impact of the project.

On Monday, Feb. 18, alumna Susannah Cahalan will read from her new memoir, Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness, as part of the Assembly Series. The book focuses on her ordeal with a rare and terrifying disease. A panel discussion will follow. The event, free and open to the public, will be held at 5 p.m. in Simon Hall’s May Auditorium.
