Siteman Cancer Center opens south St. Louis County location

The Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WUSTL School of Medicine began seeing patients Jan. 7 at Siteman’s newest outpatient location, in south St. Louis County.

2013-14 tuition, board and fees announced

Undergraduate tuition at WUSTL will be $44,100 for the 2013-14 academic year — a $1,600 (3.8 percent) increase over the 2012-13 current academic tuition of $42,500. Barbara A. Feiner, vice chancellor for finance, made the announcement. The required student activity fee will total $441. The health and wellness fee will be approximately $300.

Brown School’s Purnell selected as ‘Young Leader’ by St. Louis American

Jason Q. Purnell, PhD, assistant professor at the Brown School, has been selected as one of 20 Young Leaders under 40 for 2013 by the St. Louis American Foundation.

Area students go backstage with Edison Theatre and K-12 Connections

“The first thing we’re going to do is teach you how to throw a punch,” says senior Melissa Freilich. No, it’s not Boxing 101. Earlier this fall, the Edison Ovations Series welcomed approximately 500 eighth-graders from across St. Louis for a special matinee performance by nationally acclaimed Aquila Theatre.

The final application deadline for students interested in participating in the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) is Wednesday, Jan. 30. The CGI U meeting — to be held this April on campus — brings together students, youth organizations, topic experts and celebrities to discuss and develop innovative solutions to pressing global challenges.
