Surveys guide doctors deciding whether to test teens for STIs, study finds

Adolescents visiting a pediatric emergency department are willing to disclose information about their sexual activity when filling out a computerized questionnaire, finds a new School of Medicine study led by Fahd A. Ahmad, MD. This information can then be used to determine whether they should be tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

MFA Thesis Exhibition opens at Kemper Friday

The Sam Fox School's annual MFA Thesis Exhibition in the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum begins Friday and runs through Aug. 6. The exhibition features projects by 23 graduating master of fine arts candidates in the Sam Fox School’s Graduate School of Art.

New library book return on South 40

Senior Ji Eun Seo returns an item to Washington University Libraries through the new book drop box on the South 40. Seo and other WUSTL Libraries users now can return university library books, music and other materials through the new book drop. The box is located on Shepley Drive across from the South 40 House.

The Washington University Neurofibromatosis Center will host its first research symposium Friday, May 4. The event will focus on clinical and basic science research on neurofibromatosis 1, an inherited condition that increases risk of brain tumors in children and adults.

Rogalski becomes baseball’s all-time hits leader

In a tough 2-1 loss at Illinois Wesleyan University April 24, senior Brandon Rogalski recorded two hits, giving him 206 in his WUSTL career. Those hits made him the baseball team's all-time career hits leader, moving past the previous career record-holder, Cornell Foggie.
