In his book Together: The Rituals, Pleasures and Politics of Cooperation, sociologist Richard Sennett contends that cooperation is a craft, and the foundations for skillful cooperation lie in learning to listen well and discuss rather than debate. On Wednesday, April 18, Sennett will lecture for the Sam Fox School.

Mara MacMahon has received the 2012 Harrison D. Stalker Award from the Department of Biology in Arts & Sciences. The annual award is given to a graduating biology major whose undergraduate career has been marked by outstanding scientific scholarship and contributions to the university in the areas of artistic expression or community service.
